New Client FAQ
Do I need Pilates experience before starting?
No experience is necessary. Many clients begin Pilates for the first time at Aspen & Pine. Your Perfect Start sessions are designed to introduce you to the Pilates apparatus and teach the foundational movements so you can progress safely and confidently.
What happens during my Perfect Start sessions?
Your two private sessions allow us to learn about your body, movement patterns, and goals. You’ll also begin learning how the Pilates apparatus works and how exercises can be tailored to your needs. This ensures your training program is designed specifically for you.
What should I wear to my session?
Wear comfortable workout clothing that allows you to move freely. Form-fitting clothing is helpful so your instructor can see alignment and guide your movement. Pilates is typically done in sticky socks rather than shoes.
I have injuries or pain. Can I still do Pilates?
Yes. Many clients come to Aspen & Pine Pilates specifically because they are working through back pain, injuries, or movement limitations. Exercises can be carefully modified and progressed to support your body.
How often should I do Pilates to see results?
Most clients see the best results with 2–3 sessions per week, though even one consistent weekly session can improve strength, posture, and movement quality.
In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 you’ll see the difference, and in 30 you’ll have a whole new body.”- Joseph Pilates
What happens after my Perfect Start sessions?
After your introductory sessions, we’ll recommend the best training path for your goals. Some clients continue with private sessions for maximum individualization, while others join small semi-private sessions (limited to three clients) for a supportive and personalized training experience.
Is Pilates Right For You?
Most people aren’t sure where to start, and that’s exactly why we’re here. At Aspen & Pine, we don’t just throw you into a class; we start with a conversation. This complimentary consultation is a calm, unhurried time for us to talk about your goals and any past injuries. It’s the first step toward building a body that stands strong through every season of life.
